They have a Keep Austin Weird Festival at the end of August or beginning of September every year. The big event during the festival is the 5K run. Along the way they have the normal water stops but they also have stops for bacon, donuts, and ice cream. Everybody dresses up in weird costumes, too. Oh, and it's also always freakin' hot.

Wow, Austin IS weird. When I go visit my yuppy sis C I don't really get to experience the bizarre underbelly of the city :)
